Shannon Hickey Recognized By White House
for Service

22 September 2004

Shannon Hickey – the young lady who started all this – was honored today as the invited guest of President George W. Bush.  Shannon met the president Wednesday morning as he arrived in Air Force One in Willow Grove, PA. After greeting the President and presenting him with a bottle of holy water blessed by Father Mychal (a kind gift to us from Rev. Wabst), Shannon then joined the Presidential Motorcade and – along with other dignitaries – accompanied the president to Valley Forge Convention Center.

During his remarks, President Bush referred to Shannon as “a soldier in the army of compassion.” We certainly agree and are overwhelmingly proud of her.
