THAT SECOND COAT ... Coats are starting to pile up, and we'll be going into NYC on October 25th to deliver them to the homeless.  We have about 100 so far but still need about 100 more.  We know they'll come.  (Father Mychal - talk to St. Basil for us.)  More info

ONE-HUNDRED SOULS ... To date 25 "souls" have been adopted.  We are confident that all 100 (now 102!) will all be adopted by the project's closure at the end of November.  As the nurse who brought us this project was collecting the sizes of the boys, she noticed them scurrying around her asking, "Nurse Kathy ... what's this all about?  Is this about us?  Tell us!  Tell us!"  She told them, "Yes, boys ... it's a surprise ... and yes, it's about you - it's ALL about you!"  The boys know that something is coming, and they are getting very excited.  More info

DIAPERS FOR BABIES IN NEED ... Thanks to a dog named "Judge" (yes, after our beloved Father Mychal Judge!), a case of baby diapers was recently delivered to St. Francis Inn in Philadelphia.  The need for baby diapers there is so great.  From other generous donors, two cases followed, along with some other needed supplies at the Inn (paper towels, toilet paper, and Pine Sol).  Upon seeing the diapers (Size 5), Father Michael Duffy, OFM, (one of Fr. Mychal Judge's closest friends) exclaimed "You brought us 5's!  We were desperate for 5's!"  Every day babies are born into poverty and go without this basic necessity of diapers.  Father Michael Dufffy sees these babies every day.  If you would like to send a case of "5's" (the greatest need) to Father Michael, please send them to us and we'll see that he gets them ... and he'll see that babies in need get them.  More info

PROJECT UNDERCOVER ... Thanks to all of you, to date we have purchased 50 blankets.  Donations come in every day - it's fun to go to the post office and see what God has sent us each day.  We are certain that by the end of January 2004, we will have received enough money to reach Shannon's goal of 250 blankets.  More info

 ***Praying With Mychal***

NOVENA ... Recently, our family and some close friends joined in a novena prayer together.  We began praying on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, October 4th and prayed for the intercession of Father Mychal.  We'd like to share that novena prayer with all of you.  It was written by Shannon's grandfather.  The novena was written to be used as a healing novena but can be modified to fit your needs and prayer intentions.  It should be prayed for 9 days.

Novena
God, our Father, I ask for your mercy and compassion.
Jesus, Our Lord, I ask for your love and healing.
Holy Spirit, Our Comforter, I ask for your infusion of the spiritual presence of God.
Holy God, through the intercession of your servant, Father Mychal Judge, I humbly ask for ... healing and good health for ... (mention your intention).
Dear Father Mychal, our friend on earth and in heaven, please take ... (your intention) ... by the hand and lead him/her to the healing power of God through Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Amen.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be (3 times each).

***Shannon’s Story in Catholic Digest***

Do you receive Catholic Digest? If so, look for Shannon in the November issue. She is featured as a “Good Egg” runner-up.

Thanks for you continued support and may God bless you and keep you in Peace.
