Dear Friends of Mychal’s Message:
Wow! What an exciting month September has been! First our wonderful day in New York on the anniversary of 9/11, and THEN, this past week, an unexpected honor: Shannon got to meet President Bush.
We’re still waiting for some photos to post on the website, but in the meantime we have lots of information about the day on the site including Shannon’s personal account and links to a transcript of President Bush’s remarks (he talked to the assembled group about her work with Mychal’s Message), news items from the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal and more. It’s all located here. Bush”.) We expect to be adding more links and photos so check back to this page in a week or so.

Novena to Father Mychal
Many of you have asked about prayer to Father Mychal. Shannon’s grandfather, Robert Hickey has written a novena to Father Mychal, and with the Feast of St. Francis coming up next week (October 4th), we thought it was about time we finally posted it on the website. Mikie’s Gift
Many of you may have already heard about our Christmas project, Mikie’s Gift. If you haven’t, please visit the projects page of our website. For those who already know about this project, you may want to just take a quick look at the page, because we recently added a photo of Shannon and Mikie from when they were both 7 years old.
Reverend Wabst’s Story
Another recent addition to our website that might interest many of you is a reflection of September 11, 2001 written by Reverend Wabst. Rev. Wabst is a retired NY Firefighter and an Honorary NYC Fire Chaplain who worked closely with Father Mychal. He was planning to see Father Mychal later that day. His story is posted here.
