Blessed Bloomers Answer Prayers at The
following is a letter from Fr. Bernie Palka, S.A. of St. Christopher Inn, a temporary shelter for homeless men in Garrison, NY.
Dear Kelly (and Shannon), Every time I meet people, such as yourselves, I am truly glad I am a human being. In fact, I celebrate this life with all its foibles because I am reassured that God is alive and is actively working among us. Thank you so very much for the "Blessed Bloomers". When they were delivered to our Clothing Room, the young man in charge of the day to day operation of the room could not believe it! You see, he was busily preparing his budget in order to replace the underwear that he had distributed to the residents. And, he was facing the possibility that the available funds would not cover what was necessary. He told me that he had had many anxious moments as to where the additional revenue would come from. You solved that problem! Here it is several days later and he is still talking about how his prayers were answered. Again, thank you, thank you. I have read about your other projects in the accompanying letter and I think that Father Mychal must be so very proud of how you and Shannon have kept his ministry alive. I wish you much success in the future as well. Additionally, I was very happy to see you at the Black Tie Dinner in New York and I am looking forward to welcoming you to Graymoor in the near future. May God bless and keep you always as you continue to share your love for Fr. Mychal with all those you come in contact with.
Fr. Bernie Palka, S.A.
