The Mychal We Knew

Share Your Stories of Father Mychal

Submissions requested by August 16, 2021

Do you have a special story about Father Mychal? A photo of him? A letter he wrote you? Have you drawn or painted a picture of him, written a poem or a song about him? Did he officiate your wedding ceremony? Baptize you? Was he there upon the death of a loved one? Did you sing with him? Play basketball with him? Travel with him?

Over the years, many of you have shared special stories about your encounters with Father Mychal Judge—a priest, a chaplain and a friend.

How did he find sunshine on a rainy day? Where did he go when he was offered a plane ticket to anywhere in the United States? What did he do with a cashmere sweater given to him? And what did he fill his chaplain’s car with in the cold of winter?

As the twentieth anniversary of September 11, 2001 nears, plans are underway to compile a collection of short stories of “The Mychal We Knew,” similar to the one we printed on the tenth anniversary.

If you have a story to share, let us know. We cannot guarantee the inclusion of all submissions, but we look forward to your thoughts and ideas. Please note that all contributors will be required to complete and sign a release form. All submissions should be sent to: mminfo@comcast.net.
